Wipro Hydraulics Expanding Production to Meet Rising Global Demand
Wipro Hydraulics, a division of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, has unveiled its latest manufacturing facility in Jaipur. This sixth plant, constructed with an investment of around Rs 250 crore, is set to boost Wipro’s production capacity and cater to increasing demand both domestically and internationally. The facility aims to significantly enhance the company’s capabilities in producing hydraulic cylinders, with an initial capacity of 1,000 units per day and the potential to double this output as demand grows.
A Commitment to Local Resources and Innovation
Speaking at the inauguration, which was graced by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Wipro Enterprises chairman Azim Premji, and Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, Kumar emphasized the use of indigenous resources: “The plant utilizes machinery made entirely in India, and all stages from assembly to testing are conducted in-house.” This approach not only ensures quality and efficiency but also supports local industry and workforce development.
Strategic Growth and Future Outlook
Starting operations in May 2024 with 166 employees, the Jaipur plant is poised to contribute to Wipro Hydraulics’ goal of becoming one of the top three hydraulics manufacturers globally. Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, expressed optimism about the industry’s future: “The construction equipment sector has seen over 20% growth annually, and we anticipate India becoming the second-largest market by 2030.” With this new facility, Wipro Hydraulics strengthens its dedication to innovation, quality, and addressing the expanding needs of India’s infrastructure sector.
