Manufacturing Footprint in Visakhapatnam with New Plants
Vesuvius, a global leader in refractory solutions, has inaugurated two advanced manufacturing facilities in Visakhapatnam—focused on Alumina-Silica (AlSi) and Basic Monolithic products. This strategic expansion, announced on November 12, 2024, significantly enhances Vesuvius India’s production capabilities, aligning with the country’s Make in India initiative. These plants, following the launch of the Mould Flux manufacturing facility earlier in April, are designed to meet the increasing demands of India’s iron and steel industry, while also introducing innovative refractory technologies tailored to the local market.
Investment in Innovation and Sustainability
The new facilities, equipped with cutting-edge technology, will produce high-quality refractory products that are vital for various industrial applications. With a planned increase in annual production capacity by 250,000 tons, Vesuvius India is poised to strengthen its position in the growing refractory sector. Patrick Andre, CEO of Vesuvius, expressed the company’s confidence in the Indian market, emphasizing that the expansion reflects their commitment to supporting India’s industrial growth through innovation.
Commitment to Socio-Economic Growth and Environmental Responsibility
The expansion also underscores Vesuvius India’s focus on sustainability. Mr. Biswadip Gupta, Chairman of Vesuvius India Limited, highlighted that these new facilities will not only increase production but will also play a role in the socio-economic development of local communities. Emphasizing energy-efficient technologies and waste reduction systems, Mr. Mohinder Rajput, Managing Director of Vesuvius India, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to balancing growth with environmental stewardship. This expansion strengthens Vesuvius India’s role as a key player in the manufacturing of refractory products for high-temperature industrial processes.
