Suzuki Motor Boosting Rural Mobility with Clean Energy Solutions
Suzuki Motor Corporation (Suzuki) has finalized a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish its fifth biogas production plant in Gujarat. This collaboration involves Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited, the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and Banas Dairy. The initiative aims to enhance rural mobility by utilizing biogas fuel for Maruti Suzuki’s CNG vehicles, providing clean and affordable transportation options for rural citizens.
Ceremony Marks a Milestone in Sustainable Development
The MoU conclusion ceremony took place at the Banas Dairy Sanadar Plant in Banaskantha district, Gujarat. Attendees included Banas Dairy’s Chairman Shankar Chaudhary, NDDB’s Chairman Meenesh Shah, and Suzuki’s President Toshihiro Suzuki. Approximately 2,500 dairy farmers from the surrounding areas also participated, underscoring the community’s support and enthusiasm for the project.
Expanding Biogas Infrastructure in Banaskantha
The agreement outlines the establishment of the fifth biogas plant in Tharad, Banaskantha district. The three parties are already working towards setting up four additional biogas plants in the same district. Suzuki emphasized the collaborative effort in launching two new ventures: the biogas production plant and a rural mobility service. “By cooperating with Banas Dairy and NDDB, we will develop new lifestyle models and contribute significantly to the development of Banaskantha district,” stated Suzuki’s President Toshihiro Suzuki.
