Energy management and automation leader Schneider Electric has announced a substantial investment plan of Rs 3,200 crore by 2026 to transform India into its primary manufacturing hub for both domestic sales and exports. As part of this initiative, Schneider Electric inaugurated a new facility on Thursday in Bengaluru with an investment of Rs 100 crore, dedicated to producing cooling solutions for data centres.

Expanding Manufacturing Footprint Across India

Schneider Electric India President-Greater India Zone and MD & CEO Deepak Sharma disclosed during the inauguration that the company will establish various manufacturing facilities throughout India, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, and Odisha. Currently, the company operates 30 factories across the nation, with the new cooling solutions factory marking the latest addition.

Innovative Cooling Solutions for Global Demand

The new factory, spanning approximately 6.5 acres, focuses on developing innovative cooling solutions to meet the rising demand for the data centre ecosystem in India. With an 85% export rate, the facility will significantly support the data centre segment, along with buildings, industry, and infrastructure.
