The Karnataka government has advanced its efforts to attract global investments with a major announcement from Schneider Electric. The global leader in energy management and automation plans to build a new Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing plant in Karnataka, generating 5,000 jobs over the coming years. The announcement was made during a high-level meeting in Paris, attended by Karnataka Industries Minister M.B. Patil and Schneider Electric executives, as part of the Invest Karnataka 2025 roadshow.
Bruno Turchet, Vice President – Global Supply Chain Strategy Deployment at Schneider Electric, emphasized the importance of Bengaluru in the company’s global operations, where it already employs 11,000 individuals. Discussions during the meeting centered on enhancing supply chain localization and developing local engineering talent. Minister M.B. Patil assured the company of complete government support for its expansion plans and invited Schneider Electric’s leadership to participate in the upcoming Global Investors Meet.
Strengthening Partnerships with Global Industry Leaders
The delegation also engaged with Forvia, a leading global automotive supplier with an established presence in Karnataka. Senior executives from Forvia discussed their growth strategy in India, expressing strong interest in further investments within the state. Minister Patil reaffirmed Karnataka’s commitment to fostering an investor-friendly ecosystem and extended an invitation to Forvia to join the Invest Karnataka 2025 summit.
Additionally, the delegation met with MEDEF, France’s largest business federation representing over 200,000 companies. Discussions at MEDEF’s Paris headquarters highlighted Karnataka’s strengths in sectors such as aerospace, defense, research and development, and innovation. MEDEF expressed a keen interest in promoting Karnataka’s investment opportunities among its members and exploring avenues for collaboration.
