Mitsubishi Electric’s subsidiary, Climaveneta Climate Technologies (CCT), has announced a substantial investment of ₹400 crore to establish an advanced manufacturing plant at Narsapura in Kolar district, approximately 50 km from Bengaluru. The new facility, which will be inaugurated soon, aims to bolster the production of HVAC equipment and cater to both domestic and international markets. Currently holding an order book exceeding ₹500 crore, CCT plans to double its annual order intake within the next five years.

Expansion Plans and Product Portfolio

The new plant will focus on producing a range of sophisticated HVAC solutions, including screw chillers, magnetic levitation technology chillers, scroll chillers, conventional centrifugal chillers, high precision AC units, and heat pumps. CCT’s products are known for their high efficiency and reliability, serving a broad client base across India. These clients span various industries, such as multinational hotel chains, healthcare facilities, commercial establishments, and corporate groups.

CCT’s CEO, Anil Dev, highlighted the growing demand for robust cooling solutions driven by India’s accelerated digital transformation and the expansion of data centers. He emphasized that reliable and sustainable cooling infrastructure is essential to maintain operational efficiency and prevent equipment failures in data centers. The company plans to increase its workforce from 300 to 600 employees over the next five years to support this growth.

Commitment to Sustainability and Regional Development

Mitsubishi Electric is reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development, with the global goal of achieving complete carbon neutrality by 2050. The investment in Climaveneta’s new facility aligns with this objective, as the company aims to deliver eco-friendly cooling solutions that minimize environmental impact and energy consumption. Masafumi Ando, CEO of Mitsubishi Electric Hydronic and IT Cooling, noted that Climaveneta India plays a critical role in this sustainability strategy, especially as global markets move toward technologies that reduce global warming potential.

The move underscores Mitsubishi Electric’s strategy to expand operations in key locations, leveraging the skilled workforce and supportive government policies in Bengaluru. Additionally, Mitsubishi Electric operates other ventures in the region, including Mitsubishi Elevator India Private Limited (IMEC) and the joint venture Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (TMEIC), further cementing its industrial footprint in Karnataka.
