Krones to Setup ₹315 Cr Bottling Machine Plant in Karnataka

German-based beverage and food processing equipment manufacturer Krones has begun setting up a state-of-the-art bottling machine manufacturing plant in Vemagal, Karnataka. The facility, developed at an investment of ₹315 crore, is expected to create 550 jobs, reinforcing the company’s commitment to India’s growing beverage industry.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M B Patil, highlighted the state’s dedication to bringing investment projects to fruition, following the Global Investors Meet (GIM) – Invest Karnataka 2025. The minister emphasized that Krones’ investment aligns with Karnataka’s strategy to become a premier industrial and manufacturing hub.

Commitment to Local Development and Job Creation

The new Vemagal facility will significantly enhance Krones’ bottling machine production capacity in India, supporting both domestic demand and export markets. Minister Patil urged Krones to prioritize job opportunities for local communities, especially for farmers who lost land during the project’s development. Additionally, he encouraged the company to allocate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds towards local infrastructure and community development.

Strengthening India-Germany Industrial Ties

Krones’ decision to invest in Karnataka follows a high-level delegation visit to Germany led by M B Patil in December 2024. During this visit, discussions were held with Krones representatives, culminating in a preliminary Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the company’s headquarters in Neutraubling, Germany.

With this expansion, Krones is set to play a pivotal role in India’s beverage and bottling industry, while Karnataka continues to solidify its position as a preferred destination for global manufacturing investments.
