Empowering Local Dairy Farmers and Strengthening Supply Chain
Britannia’s Comprehensive Support for Sustainable Dairy Farming
Britannia’s extensive milk procurement program plays a pivotal role in ensuring a sustainable supply chain. The company sources approximately four lakh liters of cow’s milk daily from farmers across 70 villages within a 100-kilometer radius of the plant. Britannia’s farmer support initiative focuses on cattle management, breeding, and feeding practices, and aims to empower local farmers through various programs such as door-to-door animal health camps and breed training. This initiative not only boosts milk quality but also fosters economic growth in the region by creating job opportunities and ensuring fair compensation through direct payment services.
Cutting-Edge Technology and Premium Cheese for the Indian Market
Innovation and Quality Standards at the Forefront
The new cheese facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including advanced pasteurization, bactofuge, and auto-standardization units, which ensures the production of premium cheddar, mozzarella, and processed cheese. The facility also boasts five production lines with a capacity of 6,000 tonnes per year for natural cheeses and 10,000 tonnes per year for processed varieties. By using world-class equipment and maintaining the highest food safety standards, Britannia Bel Foods aims to deliver high-quality cheese products tailored to Indian tastes and nutritional needs, enriched with essential nutrients like protein, calcium, and vitamins A, D, and B12.
This strategic investment underscores Britannia and Bel Group’s commitment to providing locally produced, high-quality cheese products to Indian consumers, reinforcing their leadership in the Indian dairy industry.
