GREW Solar, a venture of the Chiripal Group, has unveiled plans to establish a state-of-the-art solar cell and module manufacturing unit in Narmadapuram, near Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Spread across 60 acres, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 3 GW of solar cells, contributing significantly to India’s photovoltaic (PV) solar manufacturing sector. The company has committed an investment of ₹3,000 crores for this ambitious project, reinforcing its dedication to strengthening the domestic supply chain for solar modules.
The announcement follows GREW Solar’s recent corporate restructuring, which resulted in the formation of two specialized entities: GREW Solar, focused on PV module and solar cell manufacturing, and GREW Renewables, which will spearhead small and large-scale EPC projects. This strategic expansion aligns with India’s goal of boosting local solar production and reducing dependency on imports.
Expanding Presence in Rajasthan with a High-Tech Manufacturing Unit
In addition to its new Madhya Pradesh venture, GREW Solar recently commenced operations at its second manufacturing unit in Jaipur, Rajasthan, as part of its ongoing expansion strategy. The company has also initiated the construction of its third phase of development, further increasing its manufacturing capacity. The Jaipur plant, which boasts world-class automated machinery and adheres to international quality standards, will bring GREW Solar’s total production capacity to 8 GW.

The new facility in Madhya Pradesh is expected to generate over 1,000 jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy while contributing to India’s renewable energy ambitions.
