EPACK Durable Boosting Production Capacity to Meet Growing Demand

EPACK Durable Limited (EDL) has initiated the construction of a new ₹191 crore manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, as part of its strategic collaboration with Hisense, a global leader in consumer electronics, home appliances, and air conditioning. The advanced facility, spanning nine acres, is scheduled to begin operations by June 2025. Once operational, it will increase the company’s air conditioner production capacity to over 2 million units annually, complementing the existing capacity for washing machines and small domestic appliances. The new investment follows the ₹229 crore already infused into the company’s existing manufacturing unit in the region.

Eco-Friendly and Job-Centric Expansion

The upcoming facility is designed to align with eco-friendly manufacturing practices, underscoring a joint commitment by EPACK and Hisense to sustainability, innovation, and globally competitive operations. The expansion is also set to create substantial employment opportunities, with the workforce projected to grow from 700 to 1,200. This initiative is expected to further Hisense’s market presence in India and bolster exports to global markets.

Strengthening India’s Manufacturing Ecosystem

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility featured key dignitaries, including EPACK’s Managing Director and CEO Ajay Singhania, Director L.B. Bothra, and Hisense India’s CEO Pankaj Rana, alongside Sri City Founder Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy. Highlighting the plant’s role in fostering innovation and economic growth, Dr. Sannareddy noted its contribution to the ‘Make in India’ mission and local community development. Built using Hisense’s proprietary technology and designs, the facility will house advanced production lines for air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, and other small appliances.

Ajay Singhania emphasized that the plant would focus on delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality Hisense products, while Pankaj Rana reaffirmed Hisense’s commitment to strengthening its leadership in both domestic and global markets.
