BHS India Unveils Complete Corrugation Solutions at Packvision Expo
BHS India, a subsidiary of the renowned BHS Group, recently exhibited its comprehensive range of corrugated solutions at the Packvision Expo in Pune. As a prominent figure in the corrugated industry, BHS India highlighted its state-of-the-art corrugating rolls, with widths spanning from 1.8 meters at a speed of 150 meters per minute to 3.3 meters at a speed of 450 meters per minute.
Ajay Bhardwaj, Sales Manager of BHS India, emphasized the adaptability of the company’s rollers, which are tailored to fit the specific configurations of various corrugated machines. “All the rollers are designed with respect to the machine. We are open to offering rolls for machines apart from the BHS corrugated machines, taking the machine’s configuration into consideration.”
Engaging with a Broad Audience
During the exhibition, the BHS India team was accessible not only to customers of BHS machines but also to those using low-margin corrugated machines. These customers are seeking high-quality, cost-effective corrugated rollers for long-term use. Bhardwaj pointed out the increasing preference for corrugated boxes over plastic, fuelled by the growing sustainability movement in Asian countries. “In today’s market, everyone is looking to go green, and customers who seek eco-friendly packaging products are moving towards corrugation. This sustainability movement has given a push to the already growing packaging industry, of which corrugation is a major section.”
BHS India’s First Manufacturing Plant in India to Open in 2025
BHS India is preparing to launch its inaugural five-acre manufacturing plant in Pune, set to be operational by the first quarter of 2025. This facility will produce various types of corrugated rolls, including pressure rolls, applicator rolls, and doctor rolls. Bhardwaj highlighted the advantages of this new unit, stating, “We are going to provide the facility in India and in Indian currency. It means customers can get real benefits.”
Future Expansion Plans
In its second phase, the plant will commence manufacturing the Single Facer-India (SF-I) machine. Although not new to the market, the SF-I will have the unique advantage of being manufactured locally. “Since it is manufactured in India, we will promote it differently,” Bhardwaj explained.
Commitment to the Indian Market
Bhardwaj reiterated BHS India’s dedication to the local industry, noting the company’s presence in India since 2011. “It’s our moral duty to serve the Indian industry through our new manufacturing unit in India. Indians will benefit as the machines and rollers will be available in Indian rupees, making them cheaper while BHS handles imports and currency formalities.”
To further improve its service, BHS India intends to expand its local support network across the country.
