Bhilwara Energy Limited has announced an investment of Rs 750 crore to setup LNJ GREENPET, an advanced B2B food-grade recycled PET (rPET) resin manufacturing facility set to rise in Tonk district, Rajasthan. Spanning 95 acres, the project aims to create more than 700 employment opportunities and significantly boost India’s efforts in plastic circularity.
A Major Leap Toward Circular Economy Leadership
Poised to become the country’s largest single-site bottle-to-bottle rPET facility, LNJ GREENPET is expected to start operations by September 2026. With an annual capacity of 100 kilotons, the plant will recycle up to 20 million PET bottles per day, contributing to sustainable packaging solutions for India’s growing packaging and FMCG sectors.
This project builds on the success of Bhilwara Group’s Recycled Polyester Fibre (RCPF) facility, established in 2014, which already processes 6 million PET bottles daily to produce over 43,000 metric tons of FibreGreen annually. Leveraging its existing bottle-to-fiber infrastructure and daily processing capacity of 140 metric tons, LNJ GREENPET will benefit from optimized supply chains and technical expertise.
Setting New Global Standards in Quality and Sustainability
According to Managing Director Riju Jhunjhunwala, “LNJ GREENPET represents our commitment to world-class manufacturing that aligns with India’s net-zero ambitions. Our earlier RCPF project was a milestone, and this new plant reinforces the group’s dedication to advancing plastic recycling and reducing environmental impact.”
The facility is in the process of securing global certifications, including EFSA, US FDA, and FSSAI approvals, to ensure world-class safety and quality standards. LNJ GREENPET will offer premium-grade rPET resin designed to meet the evolving demands of the packaging and FMCG industries, positioning India at the forefront of sustainable manufacturing innovation.
