Strategic Expansion to Enhance Renewable Energy Capacity
Avaada Group has announced the opening of its new Rs 13,650 crore manufacturing facility located in the Additional Butibori Industrial Park, Nagpur. This significant investment aims to bolster India’s renewable energy production capabilities and is pivotal in achieving a 50 percent reduction in carbon emissions by 2030. The project is expected to generate over 5,000 jobs, underlining its major contribution to the local and national economy.
Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, officiated the inauguration of the facility, which will primarily focus on the solar energy sector. The plant will handle the entire solar value chain, including the production of ingot-wafers, photovoltaic cells, and modules, as well as developing advanced electrolysers and batteries essential for future energy solutions.
Empowering Local Communities and Promoting Gender Equality
In addition to enhancing India’s green energy capabilities, Avaada is committed to community engagement and sustainable development. The company plans to create an additional 1,000 jobs by establishing auxiliary plants that will produce critical components such as aluminium frames and module glass.
A standout feature of Avaada’s hiring strategy is its commitment to gender equality, aiming for at least 60 percent of its workforce to be women. To support this initiative, Avaada has collaborated with both national and local Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to provide specialized training and ensure a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of this high-tech facility.
Vineet Mittal, Chairman of the Avaada Group, emphasized the project’s alignment with India’s clean energy objectives and its role in propelling the nation towards a more sustainable future. The facility is also designed to offer world-class amenities to its staff, including transport services, medical facilities, and a crèche, ensuring a supportive work environment.
