Gruner Renewable Energy to Invest Rs 220 Crores in New CBG Plant

Gujarat is experiencing a significant surge in green energy projects, with Gruner Renewable Energy announcing the establishment of Asia’s largest Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant in Navsari. The project, developed in collaboration with a leading business conglomerate, is set to cost approximately Rs. 220 crores and aims to bolster India’s renewable energy capacity, aligning with the government’s efforts to increase reliance on sustainable energy solutions.

Producing Over 16,000 Tons of Biogas Annually: Utilizing Cost-effective Feedstocks for High-yield Production

The flagship CBG plant in Navsari is projected to produce 44 tons of biogas per day, equivalent to an annual output of over 16,000 tons. This impressive production rate will be achieved using cost-effective feedstocks such as paddy, press mud, cane trash, and organic fraction municipal solid waste (OF MSW). The plant is a significant step towards realizing PM Narendra Modi’s vision for India’s energy independence and sustainability goals.

Boosting Local Economy and Environmental Sustainability: Gruner’s Commitment to Climate Action and Economic Growth

Utkarsh Gupta, Founder & CEO of Gruner Renewable Energy, emphasized the company’s dedication to addressing climate change and fostering economic growth through sustainable energy solutions. “Since our inception in 2023, Gruner has focused on converting waste into biogas to promote environmental sustainability. The Navsari plant will play a critical role in reducing India’s reliance on fossil fuels and significantly lower the crude oil import bill. Additionally, it will create numerous employment opportunities for farmers, suppliers, laborers, and the youth,” Gupta stated.

Strategic Planning for Optimal Biofuel Production: Innovative Use of Feedstocks and Location Selection

Gruner has meticulously planned the Navsari facility, selecting high-yield and cost-effective feedstocks and an optimal location to ensure high-quality biofuel production. This strategic approach simplifies the feedstock supply chain, enhances availability, and eliminates pretreatment costs. By converting industrial waste into CBG, the plant will address disposal challenges and reduce environmental pollution.
