The Adani Group has announced an ambitious ₹60,000 crore investment plan to enhance power generation capacities in Chhattisgarh. The expansion will focus on the group’s power plants in Raipur, Korba, and Raigarh, adding a significant 6,120 MW to the state’s total capacity.
Details of the announcement were shared by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) via a post on X, which included pictures of a meeting between Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.
Cement Growth and CSR Commitments
In addition to power expansion, Adani Group will invest ₹5,000 crore to develop and expand its cement plants across the state. The meeting also highlighted the group’s commitment to investing ₹10,000 crore over the next four years to support education, healthcare, skill development, and tourism initiatives under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs and beyond.
Exploring New Frontiers in Defense and Technology
The discussions explored partnerships in manufacturing defense-related equipment and establishing advanced data centers and a Global Capability Centre in Chhattisgarh. These initiatives aim to accelerate the state’s industrial and technological development, creating jobs and driving economic growth.
As India’s largest private thermal power producer with a 15,250 MW capacity, the Adani Group’s latest investments underscore its role as a key player in the nation’s energy and infrastructure sectors.
