Polymatech Announces Semiconductor Chip Plant in Nava-Raipur

Polymatech Electronics has unveiled plans for its second manufacturing facility in India, situated in Nava-Raipur, Chhattisgarh. This state-of-the-art plant will focus on producing semiconductor chips and base stations essential for the development of 5G and 6G networks, leveraging advanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) MMIC technology. The ₹1,143 crore investment, supported by a 40% capital subsidy from the state government, was announced during the Chhattisgarh Investor Connect 2024 event in New Delhi.

Focus on GaN Technology for Next-Generation Solutions

Polymatech’s new plant will specialize in producing GaN semiconductor chips, which are vital for high-frequency communication. These chips will power the base stations central to 5G and 6G infrastructure, driving India’s leadership in advanced telecommunication technologies. The facility will initially rely on outsourced fabrication, while Polymatech’s foundry in Grenoble, France, is being prepared for operational readiness. Collaborating with Simply RF, a UK-based company, the plant aims to enhance India’s global competitiveness in semiconductor manufacturing.

Chhattisgarh: A Hub for Technological Innovation

Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, highlighted the strategic importance of Polymatech’s expansion, emphasizing the state’s commitment to attracting high-tech investments. The new facility aligns with India’s broader vision of self-reliance in high-tech manufacturing, enabling advancements in telecommunications, AI, and healthcare sectors. With Chhattisgarh’s industrial incentives and Polymatech’s expertise, this initiative is set to drive digital transformation and strengthen India’s position in the global semiconductor landscape. Polymatech Electronics, already a key player in India, the US, and Bahrain continues to innovate across diverse sectors, reinforcing its role as a key player in the semiconductor and electronics industry.
