Freudenberg Boosts India Presence with New Manufacturing Plants in Punjab.

€42 Million Investment Enhances Local Production and “Make in India” Initiative

Global technology leader Freudenberg Group has expanded its operations in India by inaugurating two cutting-edge manufacturing facilities in Morinda, Punjab. Covering a combined area of 40,700 sq. m, the plants are managed by Freudenberg-NOK India Pvt. Ltd. and Vibracoustic India. This consolidation from existing facilities in Basma and Mohali is aimed at increasing production efficiency and supporting Freudenberg’s long-term growth strategy in the region.

Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation

With an investment exceeding €42 million, the new plants represent Freudenberg’s largest financial undertaking in India, aligning with the company’s support for the “Make in India” initiative. The facilities are designed to serve both domestic and international markets, particularly in the automotive and industrial sectors. In addition to enhanced production capabilities, the plants feature energy-efficient machinery and sustainable practices, including photovoltaic cells that provide 15% of the energy and water-recharging systems to minimize environmental impact.

Driving Job Creation and Local Talent Development

The expansion is set to generate significant employment opportunities, increasing the local workforce by 20% with an additional 200 jobs. The Morinda site will also function as a global engineering hub, fostering collaboration with regional universities, particularly in the Chandigarh area. According to Freudenberg’s leadership, this move reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainable growth as it celebrates 175 years of industrial success.
