New Plant to Strengthen Local Production and Boost Job Creation
Burkert Fluid Control Systems India Pvt. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of liquid and gas control systems, has announced the opening of a cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Pune, Maharashtra. The new 50,000-square-foot facility, located in Talegaon MIDC, Phase 2, is designed to cater to the increasing regional demand by producing key components and systems locally, helping streamline supply chains and enhance customer satisfaction.
Advanced Production Capabilities to Meet Growing Demand
The Pune plant is equipped with state-of-the-art machining, assembly, and testing centers, with the ability to produce over 30,000 valves and 500 system solutions annually. Initially, the facility will manufacture products such as Mass Flow Controllers, Angle Seat Valves, Diaphragm Valves, and other customized systems, with future expansion plans in the pipeline. This strategic move is expected to contribute significantly to local job creation, with the workforce expected to grow from 32 employees this year to 100 by the next.
Supporting India’s Industrial Growth with Local Innovation
At the plant’s inauguration, Burkert’s CEO, Georg Stawowy, emphasized the company’s commitment to the Indian market, highlighting that the new plant aligns with the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Local production will allow Burkert to offer more customized solutions and enhance its role in India’s industrial landscape. The company has already transferred advanced technology, including ATEX classification systems, and expects to achieve profitability by 2028. With a global turnover of 710 million EUR and over 3,700 employees worldwide, Burkert continues to play a key role in innovation across industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotech, and aerospace.
