Tokai Rika Minda India Announces New Facility to Enhance Production Capabilities

Tokai Rika Minda India (TRMN) has unveiled plans to invest INR 200 crore in a new manufacturing facility located in Neemrana, Rajasthan. This state-of-the-art plant will focus on producing advanced automotive components, including smart keys, shift levers, and seat belts, with a production capacity of 384,022 units per month. Scheduled to commence operations by mid-2025, the facility spans 20 acres and will feature the latest technological advancements to support future expansion and diversification.

Strategic Expansion and Technological Advancements

A joint venture between Japan’s Tokai Rika Co. Ltd. and Uno Minda, TRMN’s new plant represents a strategic move to expand its footprint in India’s automotive sector. The company is leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance its production capabilities and cater to evolving market demands. The facility is set to strengthen TRMN’s position in the safety and security systems market, aligning with its long-term growth objectives.

Leadership Changes Ahead of New Launch

In alignment with the company’s expansion, Uno Minda has announced the appointment of Ramesh KS as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the ECS-2 Domain, effective August 17, 2024. Ramesh brings over three decades of experience in operations, business development, and supply chain management. He will report directly to Nirmal Kumar Minda, Chairman and Managing Director of Uno Minda, and is expected to play a crucial role in steering the company through its next phase of growth.
